## Desktop installers

- Support and bug-report link at the bottom of every dashboard section.
- Corrected support destination: https://syncrotellabs.com/support.
- Startup update notices and a manual tray check. Startup checks can be disabled;
  Later and Skip this version are available. Offline/unpublished feeds stay quiet.
  Update checks download no installers and send no game records or identifiers.
  The support site's JSON feed must be deployed before announcements can work.

- Windows x64 Setup.exe with Start Menu/desktop shortcuts and an uninstaller.
- Linux x64 .run installer with a user-local installation and applications-menu shortcut.
- Bundled runtime: no Node.js, Python, npm, or source build required.
- Shared desktop tray, local/LAN dashboard, collector install/disable controls and support access.
- First-run choice of built-in responses or optional third-party local AI setup.
  Downloads require opt-in; installers require approval on the PC. Skip/retry/cancel
  are available. Selecting built-in responses disables AI without deleting saved
  provider credentials. Local AI activation starts CPU-only.

The application ships as minified/obfuscated runtime assets, without the development
project, tests, source maps or debugging interfaces. These measures deter casual
inspection; they do not make software unextractable. Browser assets and the Lua
collector remain technically inspectable. Third-party licenses remain in force.

## Verification and limitations

Passed: static export build; packaged Linux runtime/ASAR startup; fresh offline
profile; no AI download without opt-in; helper shutdown/port cleanup; both platforms'
archive contents/security fuses; collector preview/backup/disable fixtures;
Linux installer extraction, path-with-spaces, corruption rejection and extracted
runtime tests; targeted lint/TypeScript; existing bridge and collector regression tests.

Windows was cross-built on Linux and inspected, not tested on a native Windows PC.
The installer is unsigned (no publisher certificate). Native Windows installation,
real first-run dialogs, real Ollama installation/model downloads, iPad usability,
cross-distribution Linux behavior and long-session game stability need tester feedback.
No crash-free guarantee. Back up your game saves before installing the collector.

UE4SS must be installed separately; the app does not install its DLLs. Close the game
before installing/updating/disabling the Chronicle collector. Never hot-reload it.
LAN is off by default and intended only for trusted private networks.

Previous source-ZIP packages are superseded and must not be published as closed-source
releases. No automatic installer/updater, telemetry uploader, or public upload is included.
